The mission of The Van Horn Foundation is to support,
organize, encourage, and educate individuals or entities
seeking to foster community and economic development in Van Horn, Texas and the region.

The Van Horn Foundation supports and promotes its
region in general and in particular the economic recovery of its underserved & disadvantaged sectors’ through peer directed and operated services, advocacy, applied economic development initiatives, and participation in economic policy design and deployment.

 

Larry Simpson is owner and editor of the Van Horn Advocate, Van Horn Office Supply and West Texas Aviation. He has lived in Van Horn with his wife Dawn, a lifelong resident of Van Horn, since shortly after retiring from the U.S. Army in 1973. Currently, Larry serves as Chairman of the Board of Van Horn Economic Development Corporation and is on the board of Project 7, the Van Horn Economic Development Initiative.

Rebecca L. Brewster has more than 25 years of public administration and management experience, and currently serves as city administrator for the Town of Van Horn. She has successfully applied for and administered numerous community development grants and established and managed non-profit community organizations. Rebecca is a member of the Board of Directors of the Van Horn Economic Development Corporation and is a member of the Project 7 board.

Jeff McCoy is the executive director of the Van Horn Economic Development Corporation and is president of the board of the Texas Mountain Trail and the Van Horn Community Center Association. He also serves on the board of the Big Bend and Texas Mountain Travel Association and is a member of the Project 7 board.
